He holds a PhD in Government and Public Policy and a master in Economic Theory with a specialization in economic disciplines. He has extensive experience as a researcher and lecturer at renowned institutions such as the University of Costa Rica (UCR), the National University of Costa Rica (UNA), and the University of Santander (UDES). His academic and professional experience includes teaching and research in general economics, public policy, international trade, and business management. He has worked as a consultant in macroeconomic analysis and public policy evaluation for organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization, the Ministry of Planning of Costa Rica, and the Central American Institute of Public Administration. He is also the founder and president of the LABPPIES Foundation, a public policy and economic intelligence laboratory. His academic work is complemented by numerous publications and books in the economics and political sciences. In addition, he has a long career as a macroeconomic and international economic analyst for various media outlets in countries such as Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Peru.
